Delete your account
Effective date: 12 September 2026
You can ask Espen to delete your account and the learning data Espen holds about you. This page explains who can ask, how to ask, what Espen deletes, and what stays with your school.
Who can request deletion
- The account holder.
- The school, on the account holder's behalf.
Where a learner uses Espen through their school, the school is the responsible party for that learner's data, so the request may also come from the school.
How to request deletion
Email hello@espen.ai from the email address registered on the account, and include the name of the school. We use the registered address to confirm that the request comes from the account holder, or from the school acting for them, before anything is deleted.
What Espen deletes
Once the request is confirmed, Espen deletes:
- Learning history: the topic-mastery record Espen built from your work in Espen.
- Practice records: your practice sessions and their results.
- Personal memories: what Espen remembered about you from your conversations.
- Career profile: your Career Coach profile and results.
- Reading records: your reading sessions and their results.
- Portal login: your Espen login is closed and can no longer be used.
What Espen does not hold
Espen reads some information from your school's own system and does not own it. Deleting your Espen account does not remove that information, because it stays in the school's system:
- Your name and enrolment details.
- Marks captured by the school.
- Attendance.
- Discipline records.
To change or remove that information, contact your school directly.
